The Galway City Museum will hold a public talk about Irish Seanfhocail, or proverbs, this Saturday at 2pm.
The talk will be given by the museum’s assistant director Breandán Ó hEaghra, who will give examples of Irish proverbs as warnings, advice, jokes and observations - most of which transmit the humour and wisdom of age and experience to the young.
The event is part of the Celebrate Galway! programme of events, which has been part-funded by the Heritage Council.
Admission is free and is suitable for Irish and non-Irish speakers. To book a place call 091 - 532460.
