With the magical time of Christmas fast approaching, throughout November and December Graune Pet Farm and Play Centre in Mayo is being transformed into a Winter Wonderland.
Graune is fast becoming one of the west's best known and loved attractions. Located on the Galway road out of Ballyhaunis, just an hour away from Galway, it is a fantastic way to spend a fun day out with the family, enjoy a birthday party/function or school or group event.
This is an experience not to be missed with Santa arriving on Saturday December 4 and remaining for visits in the beautiful thatched cottage until Christmas Eve. His deer can be seen beside the cottage while the elves are kept very busy ensuring presents for everyone that visits the farm.
No need to worry about long queues or missing your turn while you enjoy the facilities either as the visits to Santa are well organised using a ticket and time allocated system.Take note, tickets cover a full day’s entertainment where the children not only get to meet Santa and receive a gift but can also enjoy a wide range of animals on the farm and some fantastic indoor and outdoor play facilities.
Animals include horses and guinea pigs, pot belly pigs, goats, sheep, puppies, kittens, rabbits, hens, chickens geese, ducks, donkeys rabbits and lots more - and be sure not to miss the snake and turtle hiding indoors!
Before or after visiting Santa the children also have access to the Gruane play centre which consists of four different bouncy castles, three with slides, a toddler area, pool tables and more. The race track and sand shed are always a big hit and there is also a football pitch should the weather allow for a game of football. Also on site is a large restaurant selling hot and cold food. Kids additionally get to meet bunny and chicken and have their faces painted if they wish.
So there is something for the whole family whatever the age and a Christmas experience to remember. Come and experience the outdoor life by taking the Farm Walk which has been specially designed to enable you get up close and feed the animals. The children love to feed the ducks down by the lake and especially enjoy discovering the Lamas, Emus and Deer.
