DANCE OF The Mocking Birds, the new novel by Dick Donaghue, will be launched in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop tomorrow at 6pm.
The novel tells the story of a young man and woman in their mid twenties who are drawn together because of their curious upbringings. However the needs that bring them together are the very forces which could drive them apart.
Dick Donaghue was director of the Galway Arts Centre from 1983 to 1986. He has also served as administrator of the Cúirt Poetry Festival there, performed with Macnas, directed two Galway Arts Festival parades, and toured Macnas on U2’s Zooropa tour in 1993.
Many of his articles and short stories have appeared in both local and national papers and magazines. He has also published two children's books. Dick is currently working on a biography of his wife, the artist Marja van Kampen.
The guest speaker will be Des Kenny. All are welcome to the launch.
