Three men to face trial after false imprisonment of woman in Menlo house

Three men charged with the unlawful false imprisonment of a woman have been sent forward for trial at the Galway Circuit Criminal Court sittings in January.

At the Galway District Court on Monday Garda Mark Kerrisk gave evidence of serving the books of evidence on Konstantin Sinkevic (29 ) with an address at 73 Rosan Glas, Rahoon, Aurelijus Zrielskis (36 ) with an address at 26 Cois Chlair, Claregalway, and Gimtautas Bagdonas (31 ) with an address at 17 Clan House, Dominick Street, on the morning of the court sitting.

All three Lithuanian men are charged with the alleged false imprisonment of the woman at Francis Cottage, Menlo, on May 25, 2010, contrary to Section 15 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act. Zrielskis and Bagdonas both face a further charge of intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to that person at the same location and date, contrary to Section 4 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.

Inspector Brendan Carroll told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to the accused men being sent forward for trial at the Galway Circuit Criminal Court sittings commencing January 11, 2011. Judge Mary Fahy ordered the men to be returned for trial on that date.
