•Alan Kerins is not one to rest on his laurels. The Clarinbridge hurler is now preparing for his next challenge, the Dublin marathon in October. Having been in training for the hurling championship for the last few months, Kerins’ marathon training is only beginning to get under way now, and before the big event he plans to take part in the Lifestyle Sports - Adidas Dublin half marathon next month.“ I’ve obviously been focused more on training for the championship for the last few months, so I’ll have to adapt my training to get me up to speed fast,” he says. “ I’ve never taken on something like this before so I’m anxious to see how I’ll do. The half marathon next month will be a real test but I’m looking forward to the challenge.” Kerins is running the Dublin Marathon on behalf of his charity, Alan Kerins’ African Projects.
