Rural areas of Galway County will receive €299,400 from the Government to extend the Charana Chill Chiaráin rural water supply to Tuam.
This announcement brings the number of small public water or sewerage schemes in County Galway to 11.
CLÁR, the government body for assisting disadvantaged rural areas across the country will provide 50 per cent of the funding, €150,00.
Twenty five per cent of funding will come from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government with the final 25 per cent from local authority or private funding.
