City museum to host launch of Afro Renaissance Annual Festival

Galway’s immigrant communities will show how much a part of Galway life they have become when they contribute stories and photographs to the Galway City Museum archives.

Communities from Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe, will have the opportunity to present the photos of families and friends to the museum during the official launch of the second Afro Renaissance Annual Festival, which takes place at 1pm.

The theme of this year’s festival, which will take place in November, is Attire Day, and the guest speaker at the launch will be the deputy Mayor of Galway, Councillor Brian Walsh.

More than 27 groups representing different countries, communities, ethnicity, social, and choirs are included in this year’s festival.
