IF QUENTIN Tarantino had directed Cirque de Soleil, then you might have got something like The Circus Of Horrors which arrives in The Black Box Theatre on Thursday November 4 at 8pm.
As the curtain goes up on a smoke filled scene depicting London in the early 1900s, audiences should brace themselves for an onslaught of shocking, frightening, images. Out of this apparent chaos, a range of performers appear all over the stage and they will cause the audience to gasp in disbelief at their crazy stunts and jaw dropping stunts.
There will be a daredevil flying trapeze, a vampiric crow woman suspended only by her hair, whirlwind rollerskaters, sword swallowers, pickled and bendy people, voodoo warriors, knife throwers, and for the finalé, this cavalcade of the bizarre explodes into a flaming pyrotechnic spectacle.
Also, watch out for Dokter Haze and his well endowed, vamp goth, side-kick, Satanica; Wasp Boy (Sebastian Vittorini ), who is reputed to have achieved his 16” waist by cramming his stomach into his chest by using tighter and tighter belts; and the comically macabre Vaultini who charges himself with 300,000 vaults of electricity, and sends lightening bolts shooting out of his fingertips.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
