Halloween is coming and to celebrate all things spooky, ghoulish, and ghostly, the Galway Abooo Halloween Festival returns from Friday October 29 to Sunday 31.
Abooo takes place in the city’s ‘Latin Quarter’ (Mainguard Street, Cross Street, Middle Street, High Street, Quay Street, and Spanish Parade ) and begins on Friday 29 with the Demented Carnival from 7pm to 10pm.
On Saturday 30 there will be the Monstrously Big Fancy Dress Party from 8pm to 10pm, when the streets will come alive with fancy dress. There will be prizes for the most outrageous and downright scary costumes.
On Sunday 31 there will be the Trick or Treat family fun day with a children’s fancy dress party, traditional party games, and a trick or treat trail. Then at 5.30pm follow the zombies and get along to the Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’ video recreation, followed by Samhain, the spooky story of Halloween.
Those who wish to get involved in the Michael Jackson Thriller dance are asked to come along to training classes. For more information e-mail [email protected]
