The official opening of the new playground in Monivea is to take place on Saturday October 30 with local children and young people in the community taking part in an open air spectacle to help mark the occasion.
The open air event is being helped by Earwig Theatre Company from Tuam and is set to take place at dusk on October 30. The event will have a Halloween theme, of course, and the children have been busy taking part in a number of workshops making masks and costumes during the past few weeks in preparation for the big night. The local Foroige group has also been practising their drumming skills.
