Renvyle House Hotel marks ten years of sponsoring race

Ballybrit Racecourse will play host to two days of National Hunt racing this Bank Holiday weekend as the October Galway Races get under way on Sunday. The Galway Advertiser will be giving away some pairs of tickets to the meeting in conjunction with the Galway Race Committee and Renvyle House Hotel who are sponsoring a race at Ballybrit on Sunday.

This is the tenth year of the Renvyle House Hotel Handicap and at at the course, punters will also have a chance to win a stress-free break for two at the beautiful hotel.

The two-day festival will see 14 races run, all sponsored by local firms, with a total prize fund of €214,500 on offer which is sure to attract a host of well-known owners and trainers. The first race will begin at 2.40pm on Sunday, and at 2.35pm on Monday.

The feature race on Sunday is the Barna Waste Ballybrit Novice Steeplechase, and on Monday the Castlegar Handicap Steeplechase. The Guinness Jazz Band will provide entertainment at the weekend meeting and there will also be face painting and bouncy castles in the ground floor of the Killanin Stand on both days.

Admission is €15 each day, with a discounted price on production of current ID for students and OAPs. Admission is free for children under 14.

There is a guaranteed jackpot each day of €5,000.

The Galway Races Bank Holiday race meeting is the perfect venue for a group social outing with fantastic lunch packages available for both days, which include racecourse admission, four course meal, and reserved table for the day with view of the track and a racecard at €55 per person.
