Two life stories told in Seeing And Dreaming

PUPPETRY, live action, and memory are used to tell the story of two lives in Seeing And Dreaming, part of the upcoming Galway Theatre Festival.

Dog and String Theatre company will present the world premiere of Seeing And Dreaming, by Sarah Fuller and Vanessa Earl, in the Town Hall Studio on October 29 at 4pm.

Dorothy is 80 and lives alone in a Victorian house. She has one eye, no teeth, and a soft spot for Starsky and Hutch. Her story is told through the memories of her eight-year old grand-daughter.

Michael is 88. Gnarled and bed ridden in hospital, he dreams of dancing and wild horses. This portrait explores his changing states of mind, slipping through dream, reality, and memory. This is a man preparing to die.

These stories are brought to life by puppeteer Sarah Fuller and performer Vanessa Earl, using shadows, objects, puppets and people.

The show is suitable for adults and children aged 10 and over. Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie ). It will also be performed in Coole Park on November 4 at 8pm.
