Fankie Gavin & De Dannan performed tracks from their new album Jigs Reels & Rock’n’Roll for Prince Albert of Monaco and his fiancéE Charlene Wittstock.
The performances took place at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco and the occasion was also marked by the presentation of a humanitarian award to former Irish president Mary Robinson by Prince Albert.
“We had an absolute ball performing for such an extraordinary group of people,” said Frankie. “I asked Prince Albert to come and visit his ancestral home in Mayo and not to forget to pay us a visit in Galway and we’ll show him some real west of Ireland hospitality.”
According to Frankie, the prince said he intends to visit and he has requested that Fankie Gavin & De Dannan perform for a very special event in Monaco in the not too distant future.
