Traditional Galway store now boasts a modern twist

Well known County Galway shop, Standún, which is now under new management, has received a makeover under the guidance of Senator Fergal Quinn.

Clíona Standún, the new manager, says the traditions of her heritage will be upheld, both in the building itself as it gets a facelift with the advice of Senator Fergal Quinn, and in the huge variety of produce offered.

It caters for all ages and all nationalities with a blend of traditional Irish and international fashion and giftware - browsers’ as well as a buyers’ paradise with everything under the one roof.

Fashion for the younger age groups

The men’s fashion range has expanded under Donal Standún to suit the younger male with more variety in the Bailey collection and the introduction of the Red Green brand to target the younger male.

Clíona Standún’s buying input can be seen in the ladies’ autumn winter collections at Standún and, with her mother Raymonde, she has sourced some new brands at affordable prices with a younger age group in mind. It was an area that she needed to address when she took over and has been delighted with the positive response to labels like Fever and Rinascimento already in stock.

With the arrival shortly of Molly Bracken and Bonsui, that gap in the market will soon be filled.

Some brands can be purchased on line at www.standun.com
