ELAINE FEENEY, one of the most promising new voices in Irish poetry will read at the North Beach Poetry Nights on Monday at 9pm in The Crane Bar.
Elaine began her literary career by winning the 2006 NBN Grand Slam and the 2008 Cúirt Grand Slam. These successes led to performances at The Vilenica Literature Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe, and Electric Picnic.
Elaine’s debut collection Where’s Katie? was published by Salmon Poetry this summer. “If Rita Ann Higgins is to have a successor, it has to be Elaine Feeney,” wrote Kevin Higgins in the Galway Advertiser. “Where’s Katie? is a joy.”
Poets wishing to take part in the slam should bring along two three minute poems. Admission is €5/3.
