O EMPEROR have created much excitement since their emergence onto the live scene over the past 12 months, and this month should see them step up to the next level.
Hither Thither, the Waterford band’s debut album was released on Universal last week and as part of their album launch tour they play a free show at Strange Brew in the Róisín Dubh on Thursday October 14 at 9pm.
The Irish Times said of it: “As debut albums go, this is fantastically assured and accomplished. As Irish debut albums go, it’s in a league of its own.”
The band’s live shows have also drawn high praise with the BBC saying the band’s set at Electric Picnic was “staggering, with everyone in the packed Cosby tent captivated by what is happening on stage. It’s still early days, but O Emperor seem to be the lord of all they survey”.
