Golf fans can watch Ryder Cup in 3D

The 2010 Ryder Cup becomes the first golfing event to be screened in 3D.

Fagan’s at Hotel Meyrick will screen every stroke, birdie, and bogey of the ball live from Friday October 1 to Sunday October 3.

Providing a unique and never-before-seen perspective of golf’s biggest team event, the 3D effect creates the illusion viewers are present as each golfer takes his shot.

Golf enthusiasts can look forward to three days of live coverage from the Celtic Manor in Wales as the US and European teams do battle for the coveted Ryder Cup title.

With a huge turn-out expected to view the first ever Ryder Cup in 3D, customers are advised to arrive early to secure their 3D lounge seat.

“Since the introduction last spring of the 3D lounge to Fagan’s for Premiership football games the response from customers has been phenomenal,” said Cian Ó Broin, general manager of Hotel Meyrick. “We are delighted Sky is extending the 3D viewing experience to a range of other sports including golf, with plans for rugby and boxing to come on stream in the near future at Fagan’s.”

Last Friday morning Fagan’s was buzzing with a hardy group of early birds enjoying an intimate gig with the Saw Doctors in celebration of their new album – The Further Adventures of the Saw Doctors.

All were gathered in the country’s only dedicated Carlsberg 3D lounge and were treated to a hearty breakfast before the fantastic feast of music from the Saw Doctors.

Fagan’s at Hotel Meyrick is the ideal venue for parties and events as well as the more serious sporting fans. Open seven days a week, with live sport over 10 screens, complimentary finger food, reserved areas for groups, and music ‘til late Friday and Saturday night, customers are guaranteed unrivalled sporting entertainment. Fagan’s also offers an inspiring drinks menu and an extensive food menu is served from 12pm each day as well as complimentary finger food during games.
