DO YOU have an idea for a short film but have no idea how to go about sitting down and putting your ideas onto paper?
If the answer is ‘Yes’ then check out the new classes from the Galway Film Centre, close to The Eye Cinema.
The centre is running six evening classes covering the basic elements of writing for the screen, starting on Tuesday October 5 at 6.30pm. The tutor is Ivan McMahon, who has written and directed Irish Film Board funded shorts.
There will be practical writing exercises in class and homework. The aim is to help participants establish a weekly writing routine and complete a finished draft of a short script.
The Galway Film Centre runs a short script competition with RTÉ every year where the writers of the winning two scripts are awarded €10,000 each to make the films. Participants on this course can enter this competition.
There are just six places on this course. For more information contact Mary at [email protected] or phone 091 - 770748.
