MUSIC FROM the Celtic nations and the Middle East will fill Kelly’s Bar, Bridge Street, when Guidewires play there this Sunday at 8.30pm.
Guidewires are four Irishmen and one Breton - Pádraig Rynne (concertina ), Sylvain Barou (flute ), Tóla Custy (fiddle ), Paul McSherry (guitar ), and Karol Lynch on (bouzouki ).
Their music is a mix of Irish, Breton, Middle Eastern, and Galician trad, along with original compositions by the band. Their shows are high-energy affairs, and their debut album Live was described by The Irish Times as “a spectacular, multicoloured debut”.
Admission is €10.
