Labour is determined that the next election will result in a significant electoral breakthrough and the west of Ireland is key to that plan.
Winning seats in the west of Ireland will be the theme of a major Labour party conference, entitled Winning The West, which will be chaired by Galway city councillor Derek Nolan and will take place on Saturday October 16 in Castlebar.
Winning The West will focus on issues such as the rural economy, jobs, regional health services, and the party’s electoral plans for the region.
“Labour is more ambitious in the West of Ireland than ever before,” said Cllr Nolan said. “We will be contesting every constituency. With Labour support in the West at record levels, it is vital the party has the best structures and best policies to allow people the confidence to vote Labour.”
