Public meeting on contemporary visual arts centre for Galway

Féach, the proposal for a temporary Contemporary Visual Arts Centre in Galway’s docklands, will be the subject of a public information meeting tomorrow.

The meeting, which is part of Galway Culture Night 2010, takes place from 7pm to 9pm in the 126 Gallery on Queen Street.

The meeting is being held for artists, art workers, arts organisations, curators, art directors, institutions, students, stakeholders, Galway City Council city members, landlords, developers, and the general public to discuss the Féach proposal. Images of the planned centre, aims and objectives, and a press pack will be available on the night.

The Féach steering committee is Ben Rilot and Melissa Hopkins (Ben Rilot Architects ), the artists Victoria Smith, Aideen Barry, Jim Ricks, Denise McDonagh, and Maria Brennan, and arts practitioner Martina Finn, and they will be present to discuss the proposal with people on a one to one basis. All are welcome.
