Council to host breakfast seminar on food waste

Leftover food accounts for a large proportion of the waste in many businesses. Disposing of it properly is a legal requirement but proper disposal can also save companies money.

In order to assist businesses in dealing with their food waste, the Galway City Council will host a breakfast seminar on Thursday September 30 at 10am in Lohans Bar and Restaurant, Salthill.

This free event aims to highlight and promote the newly-introduced food waste regulations which affect pubs, restaurants, deli counters, and workplace canteens.

Sharon Carroll and Mary O’Leary of the council’s environment section will be at the seminar to offer advice and support to businesses on how to manage their food waste correctly.

Those interested in finding out more about food waste are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
