Japanese metal mayhem

ELECTRIC EEL Shock, the wild, outrageous, and brilliant Japanese classic rock, punk, and metal band return to the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday September 14 at 9pm.

EES left their native Japan in 1999 to see what they could make of America and they have been on a near constant world tour ever since. Things stepped up a gear in early 2004 with the release of their first commercially available album Go Europe!

By this time EES had already toured 27 countries on three continents and had little difficulty licensing this album to several labels around the world. Follow up album Beat Me was completed early 2005 and produced by Attie Bauw, who has also worked with Judas Priest and Scorpions.

The band’s shows are full of energy and good humour, and are driven by a great passion and love for the music they play. They are sure to throw in their cover of Black Sabbath’s ‘Iron Man’ (which they do proud ) and also, if their last visit to the Róisín is anything to go by, just watch out for their drummer and what he does with a sock!

Support is from Galway band Blasterbra and Bob Slayer. Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.
