Madcap fun at Fool Me? in Silkes

GOMBEENS THEATRE Troupe and Blueteapot Theatre Company present their new collaborative show Fool Me? in Silkes on Munster Avenue, next week.

After months of refurbishment, this new space will finally open its doors to the public with a show full of laughter, foolery and festivity. The show will be directed by the two Gombeens - Miquel Barceló and Jonathan Gunning - who will also perform alongside the nine members of the Blueteapots.

Fool Me? tells the story of three escaped psychiatric patients who, searching for a safe haven for their joyful insanity, find themselves hiding out in a theatre. Here the worlds of the soon to be demolished theatre, the eager property developer, and the fools come together in one almighty collision that blurs our understanding of who exactly are ‘the fools’.

Blueteapot are a professional theatre company made up of learning disabled adults who have developed a popular following in Galway for their fresh approach to the stage. Gombeens are known for their anarchic clowning and have been collaborating with the Blueteapots for a number of years.

Performances take place at Silkes, Munster Avenue, from Tuesday October 21 to Saturday 25 with matinees from Tuesday to Thursday at 11.30am, and evening shows from Thursday to Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door.
