Taxi drivers and bar staff to walk on hot coals

On September 24, Galway taxi drivers, from Galway Taxis in association with staff from O’Connells Bar, Eyre Square Galway will walk on red hot coals in an effort to raise €20,000 for Cancer Care West.

The event will take place in the Beer Garden at the rear of O Connells Bar, and the participants will undergo a two hour PMA and overcoming fear course prior to doing the actual Firewalk The course will take place from 6.30pm. at the Forster Court Hotel and on completion the competitors will then walk from the hotel to the Beer Garden at O Connells, accompanied by fire eaters and bongo drummers into the arena and carry out the firewalk at 8.30pm.

The whole event is organised by the Blaze Firewalking Company from England who have over 25 years experience in overseeing firewalking events for charity. After the walk a major fire party will begin with food available and a Fire Disco, which will also include a fire auction with all proceeds going to Cancer Care West, tickets are available for this event at 10 euro, limited number available as space is confined.
