Poetry reading in An Spidéal

GALWAY POETS John Walsh and Gerry Galvin will read in the Spiddal Library at a free event next Wednesday at 7.30pm.

John Walsh is originally from Derry but has lived in Indreabhán since 1989. He is the organiser and MC of the monthly performance poetry event North Beach Poetry Nights in The Crane Bar. He has also published three collections of poetry, the latest, Chopping Wood With TS Eliot was published by Salmon Poetry in May.

Gerry Galvin is a former restaurateur and chef of Drimcong House in Moycullen. Many will have read the poems displayed throughout his restaurant, but not everyone realised the author was Gerry himself.

His debut collection No Recipe was published by Doire Press in May. He has read his poems on RTÉ and Galway Bay FM.
