Fearghal McKee and Los Langeros @ Róisín Dubh

WHIPPING BOY frontman Fearghal McKee and Cork’s Los Langeros will join forces for a double headline show at the Róisín Dubh on Friday September 10 at 9pm.

Back in the mid-1990s there was no escaping Whipping Boym, their album Heartworm, and it’s main single ‘We Don’t Need Nobody Else’, which many adopted as a kind of alternative anthem.

The band’s singer was the charismatic Fearghal McKee, whose deep baritone gave the band a distinctive sound. He is something of an outrageous performer, having appeared with his face swathed in cling film, sung on top of a ladder, and stripped naked mid-song!

For his Róisín Dubh show, Fearghal will be joined by his new band, featuring Whipping Boy drummer, Colm Hassett, to play new material and Whipping Boy material.

Los Langeros, who release their new album This Is Normal on Saturday, have brought their demented, country-tinged punk/rockabilly to the Electric Picnic, Kilkenny Rhythm’N’Roots, Waterford’s Spraoi, and Hard Working Class Heroes festivals.

Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.
