Gardaí have appealed for information following an assault on a young man in Eyre Square in the early hours of Tuesday.
The man, who received minor injuries in the incident, was involved in an altercation with two others at around 1.30am. It is understood the man fell to the ground as a result of being struck, injuring his head on impact. He was brought to UHG by ambulance following the assault.
Gardaí are examining CCTV footage in the area and are also appealing to witnesses to come forward.
