Mike’s style is key as Finns’ heads for two decades in the furniture business

Finn’s Furniture Stores, with branches in Gort, Loughrea and Portumna celebrate 17 years in business this year — and their success is attributed in no small measure to owner Mike Finn.

With the summer sale at Finns’ entering its last week in the coming days, customers are advised to get along and avail of bargains and Mike’s unique selling style. An avid GAA fan, he is known the length and breadth of the country for his ability to sell and his negotiating skills are legendary.

“To be successful in business, you have to give value to the customer. The customer must always leave happy, secure in the knowledge that he/she has been given more than they expect. That feelgood factor is what leads to repeat business and is what has allowed Finns to become the success it has,” he says.

Mike attributes his sales technique success to the fact that he empathises with his customers.

“I like to meet people from different parts of the country, having a great love for the GAA, so I have a lot in common with a lot of different people, and that helps when I am doing business with them, because I can see what they want and where they’re coming from,” he said.

He also hands out invaluable advice on paint colours and shades to his customers.

The Gort store is home to more than 20,000 sq ft of furniture and paint and it stocks a range of beds, which can then be ordered direct from the various bed companies.

With free parking, free delivery, free assembly, and free storage all included, Finns’ Furniture Store at Crowe St, Gort is the place to be for furniture this week.
