THE AWARD WINNING Galway animator John Jennings will host two new Manga workshops in the Galway City Museum next month.
Manga is the distinctive style of Japanese comic book art and animation, examples of which include the TV show Pokémon, the films The Girl Who Slipped Through Time and Whisper Of The Heart, as well as comics such as Gunsmith Cats.
The classes, entitled Manga @ 2 and Manga @ 3, run from September 4 to October 9 on Saturday afternoons in the Galway City Museum at 2pm and 3pm.
Manga @ 2 is a holiday themed course where each week has a different theme - Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter Bunny, summer beach, and spring days. Manga @ 3 is a course designed to take you from basic character design to the first pages of your own graphic/Manga book.
Each workshop costs €60 and participants are advised to bring pens, pencils, and paper. For more information email [email protected]
