So you think you can sing?

Are you interested in finding a hobby or meeting new people this autumn? What better way to brighten up the dark evenings and make friends than through music?

The Galway Choral Association is seeking new members to join them for the coming season. Male singers are particularly welcome.

“You don’t have to be able to read music, if you have a love of singing, and have a couple of free hours on a Sunday evening then the Galway Choral Association would like to hear from you,” says a spokesperson.

The 50 strong adult choir has planned an exciting programme of sacred and secular choral works for the coming year and are looking forward to a short European tour in 2011.

Under the baton of musical director, Norman Duffy it rehearses on Sundays at 7.30pm at St Patrick’s Band Hall, beside Ceannt Railway Station. The first rehearsal of the new season is on Sunday September 5.

New members are invited to attend choir rehearsals during the first three weeks of term and are encouraged to observe for three weeks before joining.
