Council must submit N63 resurfacing proposal, says Tuam councillor

A Tuam councillor is calling on the Galway County Council to immediately submit a proposal to the National Roads Authority so that resurfacing works on the N63 can be carried out as a matter of urgency.

Councillor Seán Canney has made numerous representations to Galway County Council regarding the state of the N63 between Finn’s Cross and Abbeyknockmoy village. Following on from this, the council have now confirmed that they have raised the issue of resurfacing this section of road with the NRA.

However, according to Cllr Canney the NRA have stated that they will review the situation only after they have received a formal proposal from Galway County Council. Cllr Canney has requested that the council submit this proposal immediately.

The councillor has also been advised that the NRA has not yet given approval for works to be carried out in the village of Moylough. He is concerned that this section of road will deteriorate even further this winter if works are not carried out soon.
