Bus Éireann introduces fastest coach service from Galway to Dublin Airport

Bus Éireann is to introduce a new high frequency Express service – the X20 - that provides the fastest coach service from Galway city to Dublin Airport.

The X20 serves only Loughrea, Ballinasloe and Athlone, and then goes direct from Athlone to Dublin Airport and Dublin city via the M6 motorway. This new service means that it is possible to travel from Galway city to Dublin Airport in only two hours 40 minutes. With the direct link from Athlone, customers can travel from Athlone to Dublin Airport in just one hour and 20 minutes. The X20 will begin operation on Sunday, August 15 and will have seven departures from Galway daily. Services leave Galway city every two hours from 7.30am until 7.30pm. The X20 departs Dublin city every two hours from 8am until 8pm daily.

“The X20 provides the fastest coach service between Galway and Dublin Airport in the market so that customers can not only enjoy the comfort and convenience of travelling by high quality coaches, but also benefit from the savings on car parking and tolls charges and fuel costs,” said Brian Connolly, Regional Manager, Bus Éireann.

Bus Éireann’s existing Route 20 Galway-Dublin service will now operate every two hours in each direction and will continue to serve towns such as Oranmore, Craughwell, Moate, Kilbeggan and Kinnegad each way along its route.
