Renault has scored number one on the double for its scrappage scheme.
Renault has top scored in County Galway for passenger registrations in July, while nationally Renault has achieved the number one spot for scrappage deals so far this year.
Dealer principal for Galway Renault, Cathal Byrne, says the Clio scrappage deals from €8,990 have been “ extremely successful”.
“A key factor to that success is that we have these cars in stock or coming to us and customers do not have to wait to trade up from their old cars into a safe product like the Clio, which comes with up to five years’ warranty.”
Renault is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Clio this year, and with more than 10 million sold, the Clio has become one of the success stories of the Renault range across Europe and in particular in Ireland.
Megane
The Megane range also has been doing big business for Galway Renault.
“With the hatch, coupe and Grand Megane in the lowest VRT and motor tax bands, we have the most exciting range of cars available, offering terrific value to the Irish motorist,” says Byrne.
The Megane range starts from €14,800 on a Government scrappage deal and all come with up to five years’ unlimited mileage earranty.
Fluence
The most sought after car in any Renault dealership at the moment is the new Fluence saloon. With five year unlimited mileage warranty, air conditioning, cruise control and speed limiter, bluetooth, hands-free keycard, and all electrics as standard, the Fluence represents an “amazing package at an amazing price”, says Byrne. The 1.5 dCi Fluence starts from €20,300 and €15,800 on a Government scrappage deal.
Scrappage
Renault’s scrappage scheme has been extended for a limited time and, according to Cathal Byrne, an additional 2,500 new cars are coming to Galway Renault. Renault’s scrappage scheme applies to all vehicles (cars, jeeps and vans ) over eight years old, while the Government scrappage scheme applies to cars over 10 years old.
