This captivating venue dates back to 1918 and the most noticeable thing upon entering is the unique large Diocletian window at the upper level. The building was originally constructed as a base for the Agricultural Co-operative Societ Ltd (hence its quirky name ), but it ceased trading in 1927, and it has since been used for numerous purposes such as a grocer, a dance hall, a boat building and even a carpet manufacturing house.
The historic building has now been restored to its former glories, and is being run by Frank and Oisin Heneghan. The Co-op has a fine restaurant with a wide range of delicious dishes to choose from. The entertainment in the Co-op caters for all tastes with regular sessions of rock, alternative, traditional and jazz music being played throughout the week.
The Friday night jam offers revellers the best in original music in the region while on Saturday evening the venue continues to support up and coming talented bands such as the Cartoon Thieves and local DJs.
Sundays are dominated by the Sunday lunch and live jazz session which offers the perfect weekend wind down tonic after a busy week. Enjoy the idyllic surroundings, succulent food and harmonic sounds of the Co-op.
