THE SEANUA album was recorded and produced by Shay Leon, who is originally from Israel and who has been living and working in Ireland for many years.
The premise of this album is about, ”bringing cultures together through music,” and the album features a number of diverse acts from Indian to rock, covering a wealth of different musical genres.
The album was recorded in Shay's Studio, Leitrim Village, Kylebrack, Loughrea, Co. Galway and features The Bahh Band, Rosie Ellis, Maja Eliott, Helen Webb, Ceremony, Fred Johnston and Sylvia Crawford, The Big Sing and Veronica.
The Bahh Band are an experimental acoustic group based in the west of Ireland who enjoy mixing Indian Classical tradition with blues, groove and earthiness.
Rosie Ellis has been living in Galway since the late 1990s and her musical influences range from jazz, blues, and traditional to world music. Maja Eliott is a pianist, singer and composer of Swedish/Irish and English ancestry. Her music style is comprised of rich classical/ folk and experimental sounds. Helen Webb is an established English vocalist and composer who performs across Europe. Other prominent acts to feature are Ceremony, who invoke sounds reminiscent of the age of the high kings, Fred Johnston and Sylvia Crawford, who are talented Irish and Breton music performers, multicultural choir group The Big Sing, and successful and talented Asian female artist Veronica.
This unique album is promoting multicultural music and musicians by creating awareness events throughout Ireland. There has been great assistance with funding but some more is required ahead of the launch for further CD duplication of the Seanua album.
