Now with the Races behind us, plans for the 2010 Clarinbridge Oyster Festival are underway with many ladies preparing to show off the glamour and maintain the west’s reputation for style.
The fashion and lifestyle magazine Galway Now will again be sponsoring a luxurious pamper prize for the most stylish lady who will be picked by renowned Irish designers Niall Tyrell and Donald Brennan.
With a long list of celebs and TV personalities having a soft spot for the likeable duo’s designs, Tyrrell and Brennan have become one of the country’s most sought-after designers.
Tyrrell and Brennan’s most recent accolade was having been commissioned to design the dresses of the director and producer of Oscar-nominated short Irish movie New Boy. Tyrrell and Brennan are also the only Irish designers to have had several of their dresses worn at the Oscars.
Their designs have appeared at the VIP style awards with Rosanna Davison wearing a Tyrrell and Brennan dress, which was made of almost 40 metres of silk chiffon, and Glenda Gilson a few months later was awarded best dressed at the TV Now Awards in a Tyrrell and Brennan sequined gown.
In addition to being sponsors of all of the Oyster Festival Queen’s beauty requirements, Q Beauty, Kilcolgan, are again the sponsors of the “Most Creative Headpiece” which year on year has proven to be a very glamorous addition to the festivities. Ken Wakefield in Clarenbridge and Hanley Menswear in Galway have also contributed greatly.
As well as the entertainment highlights of the weekend, there is no doubt that the fashion, style, and glamour have become an integral part of this Clarenbridge Oyster Festival weekend which will take place between September 10 and 12.
Following the success of the Clarenbridge Oyster Festival in previous years, this year's event promises to be a truly magnificent occasion with succulent oysters, pageantry, glamour, and entertainment.
