The bag packing day in SuperValu, Clifden, which was held over the June Bank Holiday weekend, will make a difference in the lives of patients in the intensive care units of University Hospital Galway and the Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.
Some €1,820 was raised and divided equally between the two units. At the recent handover of funds raised a representative of GICU Patient Comfort Fund said the group was thrilled with their €910, which will go towards the purchase of equipment to help patients get out of bed and walk for the first time during their stay in ICU.
