JFC Manufacturing, Tuam-based plastics company has received a prestigious European Business Award for the Environment from IBEC in the best product category.
JFC Manufacturing won the award for developing a new storm water management system. The team at JFC researched, prototyped and developed a new type of pipe that is manufactured from 100 per cent recycled material. The pipes deliver water to a purpose-built water retention system that collects water during peak rainfall times and regulates the outflow after the peak rainfall. The system also controls and minimises flooding.
Presenting the award, IBEC head of environmental policy Neil Walker said: ‘This award showcases the best of Irish innovation in environmental management and practice. The JFC Manufacturing entry highlights the importance of delivering products that are innovative and sustainable.”
Accepting the award, JFC Manufacturing managing director John Concannon said that JFC’s storm water management project reflects the JFC team’s high level of commitment to delivering innovative Irish solutions to global problems.”

JFC Manufacturing produces pipes and pipe fittings that are manufactured from 100 per cent recycled material. JFC takes waste bottles and process them at their state of the art recycling facility before reprocessing into 100 per cent recycled pipe and pipe fittings.
A family-owned business, JFC Manufacturing Co Ltd was set up in 1987 in Tuam, Co Galway to supply specialised plastic products to the agricultural industry.
The company has since grown to employ over 200 people and is now a global organisation renowned worldwide for it’s innovative, high quality plastic products. The company’s solutions are used in a wide range of industries, including agriculture, equestrian, recycling, healthcare, marine, construction and materials handling.
