A Galway-based music social networking website for independent artists, www.mytunerox.com, will be launched in August with a national battle of the bands competition.
The MyTuneRox! RoxStar 2010 will pit Ireland’s up and coming acts against each other with heats across the country. The winning band will receive a record deal with MyTuneRox! and a managed Facebook campaign to get their first single release into the Irish charts.
The Galway heat will take place upstairs in Monroe’s on Wednesday August 11 and the national final will also take place in Monroe’s on Friday August 27. Artists can register for the competition on www.mytunerox.com
The site will allow bands and solo artists to upload and sell their music to anyone, anywhere in the world. It also has features to help artists promote their music, and free music downloads.
