Corrib Rangers FC to get permanent home

Corrib Rangers Football Club will have a permanent home while underage soccer in the city has also been given a boost with the passing of the new Corrib Park Recreation Masterplan.

The masterplan was given the green light by councillors at Monday’s city council meeting and will see the pitches being developed by the Galway City Council in association with Corrib Rangers Football Club.

The news has been welcomed by Fine Gael councillor Pádraig Conneely, who worked closely with the club on the issue. He said the plan and the works on the park will “improve football facilities for the west side of the city”. — Kernan Andrews
