A new cycle path and walkway from Barna to Oranmore may have taken a step closer to becoming a reality according to Green senator Niall Ó Brolcháin.
Sen Ó Brolcháin met with the Transport Minister Noel Dempsey this week to discuss the idea which is part of Galway’s Smarter Travel bid. According to the senator the Minister gave the proposal an “enthusiastic response”.
“It would be a world class tourist and transport facility along the picturesque coastline and shores of Galway Bay,” said Sen Ó Brolcháin. “The plans are already part of the Programme for Government and are now an integral part of the Smarter Travel document.”
