GMIT has made a planning application this week to add an extra 31 new parking spaces to the college. The application was made to the Galway City Council and the decision is to be made by October 23, 2008.
The new parking spaces would mean extending the carpark on the Dublin Road campus of GMIT.
The big demand for courses in the college and with more students driving their own cars now than before has led to the college looking to provide space to accommodate for this influx of student drivers.
