Workshop for children on Pádraic Ó Conaire

The statue of Pádraic Ó Conaire has become an icon of Galway city, but how many of Galway’s children know who he was and of his importance in Irish literature?

Tomorrow at 1pm, Breandán Ó Heaghra of the Galway City Museum will lead a workshop about Pádraic the man, and Seán Phádraic the statue, focusing on one of his best-loved stores M’Asal Beag Dubh.

A second children’s workshop will take place at 3pm, with Brendan McGowan, exploring the Claddagh village with a focus on housing and living conditions.

The workshops are aimed at children aged eight to 12 years. Admission is free but booking is essential as places are limited. Places may be reserved by calling 091 - 532465.
