Brazilian guitar and Argentinean dance for St Augustine’s

BRAZILIAN GUITAR duo Siqueira Lima are coming to Galway - as part of their honeymoon - to perform a night of Brazilian and Argentinean music in St Augustine’s Church.

Siqueira Lima - Cecilia Siquiera and Fernando Lima - a couple from San Paolo, Brazil, will bring their sensational guitar play the La Guitarra concert in St Augustine’s Church on Saturday August 2 at 8.30pm. On the night there will also be a demonstration of tango dancing.

At their shows, Siqueira Lima play Brazilian melodies in chronological sequence tracing the evolution of Brazilian music from the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century, endearingly introducing each tune in broken English.

Both Cecilia and Fernando trained under the leading international guitarists David Russell, Fabio Zanon, and Henrique Pinto and the duo have won many prestigious awards for their guitar-playing.

Also appearing on the night will be guitarist Lucas Gonzales. Born in Cordova, Argentina, he plays classical guitar and writes music for film. The special guests will be Caminos de Tango Galway’s Marion and Enrique, two professional tango dancers, who will perform tango dancing on the night.

Tickets are €15/13. For more information contact Caminos de Tango on 086 - 1541703, [email protected], or www.caminosdetango.com
