Galway’s emergency services had to act fast on Saturday after a man was spotted standing on a ledge above the fast moving Corrib.
The man was sitting on a dangerous ledge, overlooking the water at O’Brien’s Bridge, in the heart of the city. Gardaí rushed to the scene and spoke to the man, trying to encourage him to move off the ledge as he was in danger of going into the river.
Eventually gardaí managed to convince the man to move away from the ledge.
