GALWAY’S MEPHISTO Theatre Company will stage Fairy Legends and Traditions of the South of Ireland in Kelly's Bar, Bridge Street.
The play is a spirited collection of folktales gathered by Thomas Crofton Croker in 1825. It was re-published six times and translated into German by the Brothers Grimm. Mephisto have adapted the book into a humorous stage show where three folklore scholars delve into stories about the Little People, the Pooka, and the Leprechaun’s lesser known cousin, the Cluricaune.
The play runs from this Monday to Friday at 4pm and on Thursday July 22 and Friday 23 at 1pm. Admission is €5. See also www.mephistotheatre.org
