Garbally National School, Menlough, the primary school for the Skehana parish, has been granted funding to provide for additional accommodation.
The funding will go towards providing an additional classroom and resource room at the school.
The news has been welcomed by Galway East Fianna Fáil TD Noel Treacy. He said the Department of Education will be in touch with the school shortly to advise management about the amount of funding approved and how to proceed with their project.
