Works to alleviate any future flooding on the Tullykyne Road will begin soon, the Galway County Council has confirmed.
A total sum of €62,500 has been allocated under the Improvement Grant in the 2010 Roads Programme for the works.
The news has been welcomed by Independent councillor Thomas Welby, who said the works will entail the raising of the road as this section has suffered from ongoing flooding, particularly during last winter
