Have a sweet treat in new Galway tea rooms

Sweetie Pies of Galway has announced the opening of its tea rooms and cake shop in Middle Street at the heart of Galway.

Sweetie Pies bakery, a winner of the 2010 Bridgestone award, has recently moved its whole operation from its orginal base in Athenry and is now set in the historic Pro Cathedral buildings.

Sweetie Pies is well known in Galway as a supplier to the local supermarkets over the years and for its memorable array of cupcakes, muffins, and cookies at the Volvo Ocean Race last year.

The bakery offers something different with all cakes being baked on the premises. The variety of cakes is immense, the bakery boasts a seven foot table laden down with all sorts of goodies.

Special offers are available each week including a mad muffin Monday - buy lunch or breakfast and enjoy a free choc chip muffin.

At Sweetie Pies tea is served in china cups, cakes on china plates, and a generous afternoon tea is an experience not to be missed.

Homemade pancakes with bacon, and maple syrup or chocolate sauce and ice cream, granary baps filled with a varied choice of fillings and relishes, homemade soups and so much more feature on the menu.

Sweetie Pies prides itself on being family friendly including a kids corner with pink leather recliners. The younger customers can enjoy a savoury sandwich or soup from the kids’ menu followed by a deal whereby they can ice their own cupcake or dress a gingerbread man accompanied by a mini hot chocolate or juice.

Only moments away from Shop Street, why not escape from the hustle and bustle of city life to a calm and relaxing space where the cakes take centre stage and life is sweet.
